Kanchu Misonogi Festival
Kikonai Town, the gateway to the Hokkaido Shinkansen Line, is famous for its “Kanchu Misogi Festival,” a winter wonder with a history of nearly 200 years.
Human exchange center
The town has one of the most popular roadside stations in Hokkaido. Souvenirs and tourist information from all over southern Hokkaido are available here. Visitors can also enjoy gourmet foods unique to Kikonai Town such as Hakodate Wagyu beef.
Tomotaka Takeda
Born in Kikonai Town. Moved to Kikonai as a member of the Regional Development Cooperation Volunteers. In addition to working for a tourism association and organizing and hosting tours, he is also active as a “wood raising meister.
